Quercus Nursery supplies plants, shrubs and trees to the commercial and residential landscaping industry, sourcing these from existing stock grown on our nursery and our network of UK and international suppliers for large projects throughout the UK.

The Story So far
Quercus Nursery was started in 2011- our MD David Baldwin had become disillusioned with his previous employer who had sold to a much larger nursery. Insights into how this corporate business ran with limited ethics and poor service gave him a clear vision on the kind of nursery he would like to run one day – a chance meeting with a garden designer inspired the leap to the creation of Quercus Nursery as it is today.
The vision was clear, David wanted a business that led with customer care and excellent quality plants and reliable service. He knew that the way to achieve this was to run his own transport – and so it began, a rented Luton van allowed the fledgling business to start.
Existing solid relationships with plant suppliers across Europe meant that stock could be ordered and received within 24 hours, meaning that the swift service he knew his customers needed could be achieved. Owning transport within the business was crucial to enabling the service to be exceptional. Legislation surrounding Brexit made some changes to plant health checks along-with border control restrictions meaning that the fast timing Dave preferred was initially challenged. The service still remains extremely reactive and increased stock levels have been implemented to overcome this issue and continue to allow for quick turnaround times and on occasions next day deliveries.
From small acorns grow great oaks – Quercus Nursery now runs 5 delivery vehicles and holds stock on 3.5 acres of nursery down here on the South Coast.
